Mixed Pantene Feelings

On the one hand, I really like the concept of Pantene's "Shine Strong" campaign. But on the other hand, I really dislike Pantene as a product, and I don't advocate using it for your hair. Not that I'm doing anything that would or would not advocate Pantene publicly.

This came to mind because a YouTuber I like recently did the "Shine Strong Tag" on her was essentially an ad for Pantene where she answered a bunch of fairly lame questions about confidence and was like, "I use Pantene on my hair."

It's not that I don't get that looking good helps you to feel confident and strong. BUT. I disagree with the idea that you need to buy a specific shampoo to get there, and for that reason, I can't really get behind the campaign. I watch the ads and I'm like, "Okay, yes, I guess I agree, but could you just...not be selling expensive shampoos on top of this message?"

I know Pantene isn't SUPER expensive, but I used to use it as a teenager and it ate up quite a bit of my babysitting money.

Anyway. I didn't feel like it was appropriate to state these feelings in the comment of the video, hence why they are here.
