So, I saw Tropic Thunder last night!

And I didn't really like it? I feel like a horrible ridiculous movie fan saying that. I really, really wanted to like this movie. A lot. But I just...didn't. I kept waiting to like it, and then it didn't happen.

This is strange for me! I LOVE Ben Stiller, I ADORE Jack Black. I did like the thing about Robert Downey Jr.'s character being black even though he wasn't really black, and getting into all those arguments with the real black guy, that was funny. And I liked the whole "Vietcong is already plural! You wouldn't say 'Chineses'!"

I don't know. Maybe it has to do with the fact that it started out with excessive violence, and I can't do excessive violence, even the fake, obviously hot dogs kind. And then they kill off the director of the movie, and I guess I have a tough time seeing a legitimately bad situation like the one they were then stuck in as funny. I'm more of a "let's say goofy things and laugh about it" sort of comedy fan, not so much of a "let's stick a dead guy's head on a gun and laugh about it" fan.

And I don't know how I felt about Jack Black as a drug addict. A blond drug addict. Honestly, I think I had more of a problem with him being blond than anything else. Which is completely stupid. I didn't really enjoy his character.

And also, I don't do war movies, but I made an exception because this one was supposed to be a funny war movie, but in my head, it was still a war movie because there were too many legitimate dire situations.

Matthew McConaughey was my favorite part. If the whole movie could have been him trying to get Ben Stiller his Tivo, I would have been much happier.

Anyway, that was all very important information that everyone on the Internet needed to know! Thank you for listening!
