Why I Love Facebook Flair So Much: A True Story

So perhaps, if you are on Facebook, and you have me friended, then you might be aware of my almost disturbing obsession with a particular application called "Pieces of Flair". If you're not on Facebook, or you don't have that application, it's basically a digital corkboard to display digital buttons that you can "buy" with your "credits". You only get 3 flair credits a day, unless you send flair to other friends, which earns you more credits.

I counted yesterday, and including the flair I bought today, I have 191 pieces of flair.

BUT THERE IS A REASON I AM SO ALL ABOUT THE FRIGGEN' FLAIR. You see, back in the day (and by back in the day I mean about four or five years ago when I still lived at home with my parents), there was this awesome site, Mushycat, that sold tiny buttons for a dollar a piece. It's this one guy who makes all of the buttons himself, and I would spend hours and hours and hours perusing the site, wishing I had billions of dollars to spend on buttons.

Turns out, with Aaron's help, I was able to discover that the site still exists! The original flair. :)

So anyway, Facebook flair is akin to me being able to buy Mushycat buttons FOR FREE. I still spend many a wasted moment lamenting the fact that my flair isn't actually real. I love it as if it were, though.
