We are at the halfway mark! Your mixes should be ready one week from now, on February 20th. If you've already forgotten what's going on, here's the post with a breakdown of the rules for your mix, and here's the post where I describe what the heck's going on.
If you finish your mix and make your post ahead of the deadline, you're welcome to let me know! nijikitten has already posted hers, I'll link to it at the end of this post if you want to get a heads-up on listening.
ON UPLOADING: Make sure you compress your mix in a .zip file before uploading it to sendspace, so that everyone will have an easier time downloading it. If you don't know how to do that, let me know and I'll walk you through it!
So I'm going to remind everyone that once your mixes are made, there is still a second part to this project, and that's discovering a bunch of new music and picking your favorite. In my opinion, picking only ten songs to go on a "me" mix has been really tough. I've almost entirely changed the track list at least twice already and I'm still not 100% sure I'm happy with it. But listening to nijikitten's mix has been a lot of fun! And much less stressful. :)
Once everyone's mixes are up, the next step is to pick your favorite song from each mix and create a NEW mix of freshly discovered awesomeness. The "rules" for this are: Limit yourself to one song per mix, and make a public post of your new track list, listing who's mix each song is from. Since I know they'll exist, you're also welcome to list "runner-up" songs that you also enjoyed.
I'll repost these "rules" (it's in quotes because it seems harsh to give something so random and fun Rules with a capital "R") once everyone's got their mixes up.
