I am the first one at the Coffee Haus for the last write in, it looks like! They're playing a song from Tommy from the half that I never listen to. I've never actually heard the song before, but I know it's from Tommy because A) At the beginning, he says, "Hi, my name is Tommy", B) It sounds just like the rest of the album, C) It has a melody I recognize from the overture which I've heard a zillion times, and D) There wasn't going to be a D except now there is because now he's singing "See me, feel me, touch me, heal me", which is kind of like a pervasive theme in the thing.

E) AND NOW THEY'RE DOING THE "LISTENING TO YOU, I GET THE MUSIC, FOLLOWING YOU, I CLIMB THE MOUNTAIN" OR WHATEVER I CAN'T TYPE AND LISTEN AT THE SAME TIME.

Are you going, "WTF, Chewbob, what are you talking about?"

Here's the thing: I really LOVE the music from Tommy right up until "Smash the Mirror" (which, admittedly, is more than half the album). After that, I don't know why, I just can't listen to it. It's one of those things where I fell in love with the first half of the album way back when and never could make it past when he actually got better. I've even seen the movie up to that point (or, at least the point where the lady is swimming around in baked beans that are pouring out of the TV, I gave up on the movie after that), but never past it. And now I'm sort of afraid to listen to the rest of the album, since it doesn't have the same memories as the rest of it, and what if it's not as good?

Yes. I'm weird. I can deal with that.

Anyway, what I'm saying here is I just heard what I now know (from looking it up) is the last track on the album! And I'm not dead or scared for life, I think I'm kind of okay! Maybe one of these days I'll work my way up to listening to the whole thing all the way through.

Maybe.
