APARTMENT UPDATE

"RS Clark and Associates, Inc. has received settlement in full for the above listed account, any derogatory credit reported by RS Clark and Associates, Inc. on behalf of our client, will be adjusted."

IN ENGLISH THAT MEANS THAT MY APARTMENT DEBT IS OFFICIALLY PAID OFF, IN OTHER WORDS, WHOOT, BITCHES!!!

Now I just need to get a damn apartment!

And here is the thing there. The place I've been looking at that has apartments for cheaps? Turns out to be in a pretty high crime area. I have a general rule with myself, where I take advice from anyone willing to give it to me, but if I hear the same advice from three different sources independent of each other, I take it very seriously, even if it's not what I want to hear. I heard about the crime problem from Jim (blow off, he's paranoid about everything), then syntheticjesso did some research of reviews, and several of them mention the crime problem there, too (questionable, apartment review sites tend to give more negative slants since people who left angry are more likely to log on and bitch). Then, two ladies that work with Jesso mentioned they knew people who lived there/knew of the area, and that it was shady (third and fourth sources, time to do some investigating). So I looked up the crime statistics from the past year on the City of Arlington website, and, yeah. Fifteen car burglaries in the past year. Ten total home burglaries. Two car thefts, thirteen criminal mischief reports, and a myriad of other unsettling behavior.

I can deal with living in a place with unsavory people, as a lay-dee, I'm used to getting hollered at and crap. No biggie. But I keep a lot of crap in my car, even when I'm not living out of it. So, now that I've turned in an application, I'm not so sure I want to live there. I checked out my old apartment complex and there is a pretty clean record, and I lived there for three years so I know I feel comfortable there. So I think, even though it's a little more pricey, I'm going to see if I can't get an efficiency there. It's more room, and the place still feels like home to me. My original plan before moving in with Jim and Jessie was to downgrade to an efficiency in the first place.

So that's where I am now: Debt paid off, but still searching for an apartment. HOPEFULLY, SOON. I'm going to go up there this week to talk to them. I'm going to try today, but I just called the office and the lady at the desk said she had to leave early, so she might not be there, but to call before I head that way and she'll wait for me if she's there.

LIFE IS FULL OF EXCITING THINGS.
