I mean. I very clearly remember referring, in my youth, to 80's music as just that: "80's music". And that's how it was, very firmly planted in that decade, ten years ago where it belonged. Now that "80's music" falls into the same category "70's music" was for me back in the day, and are the kids nowadays talking about that wacky "90's music"?
Are you a high-school aged person right now? I know most of the dudes and girl-dudes on my fl are hovering around my age...anyone with a solid grasp on current cool things know how people feel about "90's music", that "old-school" stuff these days? I mean, crap, in three years we'll be well over ten years removed from most of the stuff, and it's WIGGING ME THE FUCK OUT.
What do kids these days think of Alanis Morissette? The Smashing Pumpkins? Fatboy Slim? Creed? Is Korn still popular? Am I still considered "edgy" if I crank "Follow The Leader" on my way home? How weird is it that that came out, like, five Korn albums ago? I remember blowing that cover up for one of those projection/little to big projects in math class.
HELP ME OUT HERE, GUYS. I'M HAVING TROUBLE COPING WITH MY MUSIC BEING THIS OLD.
