#1 - The lifeguard in me (it's a very small part of me, but I've taken the training a billion times, so it IS there) sees all the horrendous potential for injury and, in some cases, drownings. It's tough to enjoy yourself when you're watching all these people who probably wouldn't be able to pass a swim test thrashing around in heavy, man-made waves.
#2 - They're ALWAYS packed. And ALWAYS miserably hot. If there weren't so dang many people there, and if it were just a few degrees cooler, it would probably be a lot more enjoyable.
So I guess if Schlitterbahn were not a waterpark, I would have liked it a lot more!
BUT. It was all made up for by what we got to do on Sunday. And that was, we got to tour San Antonio.
ON A SEGWAY.
Yes, dudes, I have ridden on a Segway. I am now just as cool as Weird Al. It was pretty awesome, too, once I got over the initial terror I felt for the first hour of cruising. We watched this safety video before we got out on the road, and it was full of terrifying animated images of severe head injuries from carelessly driving the Segway over sticks and hoses. At one point on the tour, we HAD to roll over a hose, and both my mom and I stopped at it and thought to ourselves, "CRAP. A HOSE. WHAT DO I DO??? I DON'T WANT TO DIE!!!!" It turns out the answer is just roll over the friggen' hose. It's not that big a deal.
But anyway, I'm back and alive and full of unkept promises from my last post (IE: No choose your own adventure, and no cool H_E post)! So expect lots of FL spamming today. IT WILL BE FUN DON'T WORRY.
Today in my lj history!
I went to Cedar Point and rode a lot of crap!
The Ring! It wasn't so tough!
