Work and stuff

So I haven't really mentioned it here, but I got a slight "promotion" at work. There's no difference in pay (yet), but I am moving to a position that's been held down by one girl for several years. She's switching departments and they need a replacement. It was a pretty big honor to be asked, especially since I've only just started working here at the beginning of the year, and there are some girls that have been here for the better part of a decade.

However, taking the position means that I'm not going to be able to take my vacation to Cedar Point. Everyone that knows me that I've told this to has been completely taken aback. "You can't go to Cedar Point this year?"

Apparently I make a big deal out of it or something! It's only the one thing I look forward to every single dang year!

I told my mom, and I was a little afraid of how she'd react to it, because we plan our entire years around this trip. As soon as we get back, we start planning for next year. So we'd been planning this trip since last August.

She was upset, but ultimately decided that if I'm not going, she's not going. Instead, we're going to take a road trip over the weekend to go to Schlitterbahn, a ginormous waterpark I've heard about for years, but never been to. I have to admit that I'm not too big on waterparks, and I'm a little panicked about going an entire year without riding Millennium Force, but I've never heard a bad report of Schlitterbahn and I refuse to not look forward to the trip. And maybe, if I get desperate, mom and I can fly up to Cedar Point for a weekend or something. I've never been there for Halloweekends! I could take a sick day in October, right?

Today in my lj history!
