My novel started out in third person, and I made a really good go at it, I swear, but after about the first 2,000 words I completely gave up and switched to first person. I'm a lot better at first person unless I really know what's going on (and plus, first person offers a lot more opportunities for arbitrary thought deviations!). I'll have to go back to the beginning of the book when I'm finished to change the third person into first person, but NO TIME FOR THAT NOW, ONLY NEW WORDS ARE TO BE TYPED.
Also, I'm very excited, because today I realized that my story ACTUALLY RELATES TO THE TITLE this time, this is something very new and mysterious to me. The title, by the way, is The Spaghetti Incident, a phrase that popped into my head a few months ago that I liked so much I decided to use it as the title of this year's NaNo. I had no intention of it actually having anything to do with the book, but it DOES, even with Jesso's dare of never mentioning spaghetti ever at all. THAT'S ALL YOU GET. I'M BEING CRYPTIC AND IT'S AWESOME.
Feel free to continue to post your word counts here! It's a lot of fun to see where everyone else is. I didn't realize how many people on my fl are doing NaNoWriMo this year. YOU ARE ALL AMAZING FORCES OF NATURE AND DON'T YOU FORGET IT.
