But yeah, yesterday was pretty cool! I got off work and headed to Barnes and Noble to pick up a present for Jim, yesterday being his birthday and all, and opaleyes called me to say hi! That was awesome, because I'd been thinking I needed to call her, but I've been so darn busy and also I'm a horrible friend.
Then, when I went IN to the bookstore, my buddy Mike Riley, whom I don't think I've seen since shortly after graduation, was working there! It was awesome to get to catch up and hang out for a little while, plus he used his magic employee powers to get me a discount on Jim's gift and also get me a delightful drink from the Starbucks counter.
After that plesant experience, I was all rarin' to write when I got home, as opposed to how I usually feel when I get home from work, which is dead. I wrote until nine and managed about 4,500 words. I took a break thinking, "I'll wrap Jim's present and then I'll write the rest of my words and then I'll head that way." But after I had the present all wrapped, it looked very nice and pretty and I was all excited and stuff, so I went ahead and went over to Jim and Jessie's.
It was awesome, because Tim's visiting! He's staying all weekend, that's pretty sweet. I haven't seen Tim in FOREVER, so it's cool that he'll be there for the mini-barbecue party thing for me and Jim. I AM SO PUMPED FOR EATING MEAT TONIGHT OH MAN. DELICIOUS DELICIOUS MEAT.
ANYWAY, I was very responsible and went home at eleven to finish up my writing. Eleven is freaking EARLY for leaving Jim and Jessie's. I got home and sat down to type again, and had tapped out about fifty words when I get a text message from syntheticjesso. Apparently, some weird noise was going on in the bathroom of her apartment, so I told her she could come over and use my shower. I feel sorry for the fact that she had to resort to such grossness, but she didn't vomit all over the place, so that's always positive.
After she left, I went back to typing and SOMEHOW MANAGED TO MEET MY GOAL FOR THE DAY. I was so excited and pumped that I didn't really want to go to bed, I wanted to finish the dang novel right then, but another six thousand words would have taken a few hours and by that point it was already one in the morning and I had work the next day, so I figured sleep would probably be a better idea.
AND NOW IT IS INTENSE LAST MINUTE TYPING TIME. If I don't finish today, I don't finish, so I'll see you on the other side of 50,000 words!!!!
