Tree Dreaming

Quilting Update

Finally finished my LJI entry and sent it off for a beta-read. This entry has been one of the most difficult things for me to write, I think because I was trying to figure out where it was going the whole time, because I want to keep going with the story and turn it into something more full-length eventually, and I was trying to figure out a decent stopping point.

Anyway, onto quilt talk. I finished up a pretty complex block today, and I've decided to go ahead and take the handful of blocks I have and start piecing them into the final quilt top. I like the idea of there being a lot of white space in between the blocks, since they're all pretty random. Also, I like the fact that there are no real quilting "rules". I like the idea that you CAN make a quilt with a handful of blocks and a lot of white space.

So the next step is cutting large blocks of white fabric and piecing it together. I might throw in some extra scrappy strips if I see places where they could go.

Habit RPG continues to work out great, although as of right now, I have SEVEN eggs and no potions to hatch them. I feel compelled to add a bunch of menial tasks so that I can check things off, but I don't want to do that with no real goal in mind, so I will keep going like I'm going and hope for potions! One of the members of my party has already managed to get a mount. It's a little nuts how envious I am of that!
