Hufflepuff Banner

Okay, there are no actual pictures in this post, but matt1993 (henceforth known as "Matt") and auracel (henceforth known as "Megan") inadvertently helped come up with a cool idea for those of you wacky visual artists who don't write but DO DRAW AND/OR TAKE PHOTOS AND/OR CREATE OTHER AMAZING VISUAL ART.

You see, Matt asked if he could write fanfiction for NaNo, and if illustrations were allowed. Yes on the fanfiction, I said, and I don't see any reason why illustrations would not be allowed, they just wouldn't count towards your final word count.

But then Megan threw in the point that "a picture is worth a thousand words". WHICH IS AN EXCELLENT POINT. According to legend, a picture IS worth a thousand words! So what if you accumulated your word count...IN PICTURES??? Create 50 pictures during the 30 days of November, and you have, for all intents and purposes, WRITTEN 50,000 WORDS.

Listen, you know me, and I'm not one for liberally bending the rules of NaNoWriMo. But the semantics of this situation are so endearing to me, and the challenge is of a similar magnitude (it breaks down to 1.6666* pictures a day) that I say if you are an artist who has never done NaNoWriMo before, DO IT THIS YEAR WITH ART. And get a legit username and log your legit word count, 1,000 words for every picture, and TELL ME ABOUT IT BECAUSE I AM INTERESTED.
