Hufflepuff Banner

Book 6/15 - Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close.

This book was really interesting. It took me forever to read, I've been working on for six months or so. It reminded me of a cross between Catcher in the Rye if Holden was a nine year old, and House of Leaves but less creepy and more sweet. At first, it seems like a random collection of stream of consciousness, but then it all comes together in the end and I loved that.

The basic plot is a boy who lost his father in 9/11, while trying to come to terms with it, finds a key in his father's belongings. So he starts a quest to find out what lock it fits in.

I enjoyed it a lot, but I don't know that I'll be reading it again, so I think I'm gonna Paperback Swap it.

Speaking of, I'm finally starting in on a book I got as a result of Paperback Swap, Water For Elephants. So far it's really good, but for some reason I'm having a tough time paying attention and I have to go back and re-read a lot.

I feel like I've dropped off the face of livejournal, I haven't had a lot of time to catch up on my fl since I have to use other people's computers and also I'm sleeping until freaking noon every day and I think I should really stop that. But it's been cold and rainy and non-conducive to hooping, so WHY SHOULD I GET OUT OF BED ANYWAY, HMMM???

But the sun is out today and there is hooping to be done and I am thoroughly inspired by this video:

Perhaps today I'll pick up some more tubing to make hoops to sell. Jeni, I'm about to place the Identi-Tape order if you want to let me know what tape to pick up for Caitlin?
