Hufflepuff Banner

(no subject)

Guys, I have this idea for a book, based not too terribly loosely on my recent experience with having a buddy from high school die, it would be more of a catharsis thing and probably end up a lot like Whatever (starting out incredibly true to life and ending up somewhere completely different but still a good story). Here's the thing: It's only two months until NaNo, BUT, historically, if I go into NaNo with an idea? I fail. Like a crazy, crazy, failing failer.

HOWEVER. If I try to do it now, I'll need some sort of fellow challenger, someone who's working on something else (not necessarily a novel) at the same breakneck speed as I in order for me to actually finish it. I need a deadline and competition. Those are kind of tough to come by, and I'm not very self-motivated.

WHAT DO YOU THINK, INTERNET???

Should I try to write it now or save it for NaNo?
