Tree Dreaming

Ow, ow, ow, ow...

Ok, so I just finished my history test. First history test of the semseter, meaning limited idea of what to expect from teacher. ESSAY TEST. Fellas, I don't know if you know, but a) I'm really horrible at history, and b) my salvation for good grades in history despite aforementioned horribleness is the saving grace of multiple choice questions.

I have an awesome teacher this semester, and I feel like I have a better understanding of history than I ever have before. I'm actually interested in parts of it, and I'm doing a decent job of keeping up with the reading assignments.

Two multiple choice quizzes, which I eeked through ending up with C's, proved that: a) I'm really horrible at history REGARDLESS of awesome teachers, better understanding of subject matter, increased interest in subject matter, and actually reading the text book, and b) multiple choice salvation proves insufficient with "who" and "what" questions.

Now I have taken a test, an all essay test, which involved four identification questions (where I had to describe "who or what", "why or how", and "historical significance"), one smallish essay where I had to explain stuff and use references to the reading (which, I may add, is not just from the textbook, but also from two other books, a nonfiction and a novel which we have to keep up with as well), and one HUGE essay for which we had to write an outline, articulate a thesis, provide hard historical evidence, AND cite references from the reading (not just the textbook).

I finished with three minutes left to spare. My hand hurts SO BAD. I have no idea how I did, but I'm pretty sure I didn't cite enough specific evidence (mostly because I didn't have time to), and I know I left out a reference to one of the other books in my last essay. I REALLY REALLY REALLY hope I can at least pass, because I tried really hard and I studied best I could (studying is also not my forte).

Please, folks, cross your fingers for me, and if you see me in the next day or so, offer me a hand massage.

I don't know what's funnier. The fact that this has five bids, or the fact that ALL of them are from either AnnE or my mom.

OR the fact that the auction alone has gotten 259 hits.

I'd have to say, regardless of outcome, that the Donate to the Poor College Student Fund auction is a sweeping success.
