Do you remember?
WELL. I get this phone call yesterday. WHILE I'M WORKING MY NEW JOB.
It's the lady. From the bank. Saying, "Hey, this is Shannon from Liberty Bank, you interviewed with us a while back, remember?"
NO SHANNON. I DO NOT RECALL THIS ALLEGED "INTERVIEW" OF WHICH YOU SPEAK. COULD IT BE THE ONE THAT I OBSESSED OVER FOR THE ENTIRETY OF FEBRUARY??? COULD THAT BE THE ONE??? THE ONE THAT I CALLED EVERY DAY ABOUT??? I DON'T KNOW, IT'S SO HARD TO REMEMBER.
I said, "Yes, I remember."
Shannon says, "Well, we were just wondering if you'd gotten a job yet, or if you still want to work for us."
OH MY GOD, SHANNON, IT'S BEEN THREE MONTHS SINCE I INTERVIEWED WITH YOU!!! DO PEOPLE REALLY GO JOBLESS FOR THREE MONTHS WHILE THEY WAIT TO SEE IF YOU'RE GOING TO HIRE THEM OR NOT????
Much as I REALLY wanted to say, "Why yes, I can work for you, I can start tomorrow, holy crap, you have NO IDEA how much I want to work at a bank", I had to tell her that yes, I HAD found other employment, because I've based my schedule for the summer and the coming school year around said employment, and also, it would be intensly shitty of me to just leave the job I've only had for a month and a half because I'd rather work at a bank.
In other words, GOOD GOD, POTENTIAL EMPLOYERS, MAKE FASTER DECISIONS.
