Lady Gaga
So I think I'm going to have to buy the Lady Gaga album so that I can hoop to "Beautiful Dirty Rich", because I'm kind of in love with that particular song. But I can't because I'm BROKE.

DID YOU KNOW LADY GAGA IS A HERMAPHRODITE?? I found this out about a month ago and every time I think about it, it makes me bizarrely happy. Like life can't be all bad if a friggen' hermaphrodite is a super famous pop star.

I'm...ending this post now.

Technically the correct term is "intersex," since true hermaphrodites are pretty rare in humans. :O (And in most cases someone may have both/indeterminate external genitalia but only one set of internal reproductive organs, etc etc etc. It's a pretty fascinating topic. 8D)

I wish more people who are intersex would speak up (though I fully understand why they don't) and that people would recognise how common it is. It'd do a lot to help deconstruct our silly notions of rigid gender boundaries.

The whole cd is pretty badass, but if you can hold out, you should wait until November 24th when it's re-released with EIGHT NEW SONGS!

BTW, I'm slightly in love with Lady Gaga, lolz.

The lady gaga being intersexed thing seems to be based on an unconfirmed quote she denies saying and lots of creepy speculation based on close-up pictures. She's refused to discuss the issue in any interviews, so even if she is, she's not 'out' about it.

Dammit, you're going to drag us all kicking and screaming into pop culture, aren't you? :p I've never even heard Lady Gaga (although I have heard *of* her), but now I'm going to have to look up that song.

Jaime Lee Curtis also has some gender ambiguity going on. I don't know enough about the topic, but it did seem to me they were avoiding the term "hermaphrodite." I'm not sure if that was a PR thing at the time, or if there are degrees or variations of gender ambiguity.

Always willing to learn, however, if anyone has the dirt.

Oh, we had a MASSIVE discussion in my Human Sexuality class one day on using the words hermaphrodite and intersexed. That was a fun day XD
Reports of her having man bits are unconfirmed though. I think it'd be awesome if she was though... she's just so badass.
Innyhoo, go buy the album RIGHT NOW. I got it like a month ago and love every single one of her songs. I also bought a few remixes (of Poker Face and Paparazzi I think) and those are amazing too. Yay!
