Awesome! You deserve it :)

One thing I notice watching all those videos, the dancers all seem to spin. And they all seem to spin in the same direction for the whole song. Does anyone ever switch directions?

Oh, yes! Definitely!

Most hoopers like to spin in the direction their hoop is spinning because it slows the hoop down, making it easier to perform tricks smoothly (it also feels awesome to be in tune with the hoop!). But you can do a lot of amazing things with reversing the flow of the hoop. You can also spin in the opposite direction of the hoop if you want to, which makes it tougher to keep going because you have to speed up in order to keep up with the hoop.

Here's an awesome example of what you can do with reversals:
