Muse on cellos = HOLY CRAP.
I love Zoe Keating. Oh my goodness. I was searching for something entirely different, but I stumbled upon this:

She is covering Muse's "Time is Running Out". ON THE CELLO. By herself, using naught but a laptop and looping software. And her cello, of course. What a freaking incredible woman.

SO ANYWAY, Vanessa and I took a trip down to Austin yesterday to see RENT with Anthony Rapp and Adam Pascal again. I'm so glad I got to see it a second time, my memory is terrible so the more times I can witness/experience something, especially something awesome, the better.

The only downside was that I was freaking exhausted from two days of running consistently from one event to the next and going to sleep late like a moron. I slept like nobody's business today. Oh man, did I sleep.

But in between all of that sleeping, I got a case of the crazy and decided (after waking up at two in the morning from a five hour nap) that I wanted to rearrange my apartment furniture. So I went down to my car to get out my iHome so I could hook up my iPod, but while I was down there, I thought, "I really want to listen to my RENT soundtrack. Maybe it is in here." (You see, I have not been able to find my RENT soundtrack ANYWHERE. I've found the case, but that's it. Maybe I should just bite the bullet and order it from swapacd.) So instead of rearranging my furniture, I cleaned out my car.

You have to understand that I clean out my car maybe once, twice a year? And between those times, it accumulates all sorts of bizarre crap. The last time it had gotten a good, thorough cleaning was in December before my drive to Colorado. So it wasn't too horrible, and I didn't find my RENT soundtrack, but I did find the Dresden Dolls cd I was looking for about a month ago, as well as a shitton of clothes, some stuff from Christmas, yarn, books, and one and a half trash bags full of junk.

And then I went upstairs and climbed back into bed and proceeded to have dreams about finding my old cat Gus, going to parties, and my bedroom closet leading to a Subway restaurant that was fully staffed and wouldn't hire me which is lame because, come on, talk about convenience.

Anyway, I hope everyone's having a grand and spectacular Monday, I am hungry, but I don't know what to eat.

I can see the makings of an awesome Narnia parody here.
Yay for cleaning out your car!

Re Zoë: I *so* want to bear her children, LOL! This is a great vid, thanks so much for posting it. She & Amanda covered another Muse tune on their Oz tour but I can't think of the name. There is a vid of it on YT floating around. To be honest, I don't know Muse but I think I'm going to look them up. If Amanda and Zοë like them, how bad could they be? lol.

They're a pretty great band. I've liked everything I've heard by them (which is a lot, because I got a couple of albums from a friend). If nothing else, look up on YouTube the song Zoe covered, and you'll see how impressive it really is, that she did the snaps and everything!

Great video! I have a looper and I used to play with it a lot. It was hard for me to get it precise like that. Now I'm thinking about busting it out to experiment. I haven't played in over a year.

I have never seen or even heard RENT, but everyone I know seems to love it. I guess I should check it out.

You should totally play more with your looper!!

RENT is fantastic, if you like horribly depressing yet somehow also inspiring musicals. I highly recommend checking out the Original Broadway Cast Recording Soundtrack, and if you like that, rent the movie (it stars all but two of the original Broadway leads). And of course, there's nothing like seeing it on stage!
